UXORIOUS - (Latin dir) doting upon, foolishly fond of, or affectionate toward one's wife

This word has been demonstrated so beautifully in my friend Scotty who uxoriously cares for his wife, the consumate sweetheart, Jody. Everytime I read the updates on their blog I am first and foremost, knocked to my knees in overwhelming adoration and praise of my Lord and Savior for His all-sufficiency and perfectness! No, Jody's cancer isn't fair (Neither is Dawn Elders), but God IS perfect and His plans are good and righteous altogether. Secondly, I am humbeled by their continual thanksgiving! More accurately, I have modeled on the pages before me (in Scott and Jody's blog) such a saturated display of thankfulness, in the midst of the harshest, most cruel circumstances, that I am struck by my lack of thanksgiving, in my relative life of ease and tranquility!

John is another beautiful picture of a godly and uxorious husband! We were able to visit Dawn at home on Sunday. We brought a little Sunday morning worship to her and John. It does make me a little jealous to be in the same room with someone who is so close to seeing Jesus face to face. And all the while John is at her side tenderly caring for her, hurting with her and for her. That man is such a beautiful picture of Christ to me!
