Welcome to Shanghai! Our first stop in our China trip. We enjoyed so many sights, sounds, smells, and experiences here. Shanghai is smaller than Beijing but has a larger population. I never really understood crowded (even growing up in a home with eight sibblings and one shower) until I visited Shanghai. For a glimpse of crowded, check out the pics in the previous post. But for now, enjoy some very serene scenes from a peaceful spot in the center of the bustle.

A tour boat on the river seperating the classic architecture of the Bund with the modern industrialism of the Pudong area.

This is the dragon fountain outside of the Yu gardens. Another example of Old and New exsisting side by side.

This is the entrance to the Yu gardens area, right next to the previous picture.

Inside the Yu gardens. The Koi ponds were the best fed fish in all of China!
